Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants recognize the need of most students today to receive financial assistance to be able to continue with their education. Students will submit an essay on one of two topics that appear on the scholarship page of the web site: http://www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm to compete for up to $1,000 in scholarship. The deadline is June 15, 2009.
AFP-IN (formerly TMAI) Scholarship is awarded for the 2009-2010 school year to a finance major or someone with a concentration in finance or a closely related field. The two $2000 scholarship recipients will also receive two complimentary registrations for themselves and their faculty advisor to the annual Circle City Treasury Management in Conference in Indianapolis in September. Application may be submitted online at www.afp-in.org.
The John Gyles Education Awards are available each year to students in both Canada and the United States. Canadian or American citizenship and a minimum 2.7 cumulative grade point average are required. Selection is based on academic ability and financial need. Selected students will receive up to $3,000. The deadline is June 1, 2009. Applications are available at www.johngyleseducationcenter.com.
Minority Teacher Scholarship and Special Education Services Scholarship are awarded to Indiana resident minority students or special education majors pursuing a career in teaching certification full time at an eligible Indiana college who maintain a 2.0 grade point average. You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be eligible. Applications are available at http://www.state.in.us/ssaci/programs/
The SALLIEMAE Fund is a charitable organization dedicated to college access and is awarding about 1,000 underserved students more than $2.5 million in college scholarships. United Methodist Higher Education Foundation through the United Methodist Dollars for Scholars Program is making available 325 additional scholarships. For further information and to download an application, visit the web site at www.umhef.org. Applications for The Stoody-West Fellowship for graduate students and the Leonard M. Perryman Communications Scholarship for racial ethnic minority undergraduate students are available in the Financial Aid Office in the DePauw Administration Building. The Verde Dickey Memorial Scholarship is specifically for students majoring in education or physical education who plan to become teachers or coaches. Two $7,500 awards are available for juniors or seniors with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and an economic need for scholarship support. Information is available in the Financial Aid Office or on the web site listed above.
USAFunds Access to Education Scholarships makes available to students $1,500 awards each year with an application deadline of February 15. These awards are open to high school seniors, currently enrolled college or professional degree students or incoming college or professional degree students who plan to enroll or are enrolled in full- or half-time undergraduate or full-time graduate or professional degree coursework at an accredited two-or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. GED recipients are eligible. Students must plan to enroll or be enrolled beginning with the fall 2009 term through February 1, 2010.
