RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for conducting assessments for students with disordered eating concerns and students diagnosed with eating disorders; working collaboratively with the Eating Disorder team; and providing care for students. Essential functions include conducting nutritional assessments for students individually and/or in groups; developing, implementing and evaluating nutritional interventions and programs; coordinating programs for students on nutrition and disease prevention; providing staff development for Counseling and Health Services staff regarding nutritional assessments; assisting athletic trainers and coaches on the identification of student athletes with disordered eating; consulting with various student constituencies with potential nutritional concerns on healthy eating options; developing health promotional programs and materials which provide accurate information on popular diets and nutritional supplements used to manipulate weight; identifying referral sources for treatment programs for students with Eating Disorders; creating a resource file/library for students, faculty and staff regarding healthy eating for the DPU’s Women’s Center; and other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree; three years of experience; and certified as a Registered Dietitian in the state of Indiana required. Experience working with college aged students preferred. Must also have sensitivity to and embracement of individuals that represent cultural, religious, ethnic, sexual orientation and lifestyle diversity; excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff; and understanding of confidentiality of information shared between students and mental and medical health care providers.
