Director of Financial Aid

RESPONSIBILITIES
DePauw University seeks a dynamic, highly-skilled financial aid professional to serve as Director of Financial Aid.  The successful candidate will provide leadership and vision to manage the University’s $32 million financial aid budget; provide ongoing financial projections and data analysis; and make recommendations on awarding policies and procedures to meet University enrollment goals.  Other areas of responsibility include packaging and review of student aid awards; communication with students and parents regarding financial aid awards and financial aid counseling; enhancing internal and external communication systems to inform student about financial aid policies and procedures; helping to develop and implement database systems to track financial aid expenditures and make future projections; managing endowed scholarship accounts; maintaining professional connections in state and national financial aid organizations; and providing leadership and support for the financial aid and admission staff.  DePauw has recently implemented PowerFAIDS as its financial aid management system, and the new Director will provide guidance on use of this tool to most efficiently administer federal, state and institutional resources. 

REQUIREMENTS 
A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of eight years financial aid administration experience required.  Additional requirements include a thorough knowledge to comply with state and federal regulations regarding student aid programs; and direct budget development and packaging experience to meet enrollment and budget goals.  An advanced degree is desirable, as is direct experience with a financial aid management system such as PowerFAIDS.  The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong financial management background; outstanding communication skills; ability to work effectively with students and parents; and a commitment to student access.  The ability to work collaboratively with the financial aid, admission and financial administration staffs is essential.  Enrollment management experience preferred.
