RESPONSIBILITIES
DePauw University’s Office of Instructional and Learning Services (ILS) has an opening for a graduate internship during the 2008-09 academic year.  Renewal for a second year is possible, based on satisfactory performance.  The internship will offer valuable experience incorporating technology into teaching and learning at the undergraduate college level.

The Instructional Technology Graduate Intern assists in coordinating the University’s Student Technology Assessment, Resources and Training (START) program which provides workshops, Web-based training, and one-on-one hands-on support to foster information fluency among DePauw students and provide them with opportunities to improve their information technology knowledge and skills.  This person also collaborates with ILS instructional technologists to provide instructional technology consulting and support for faculty members who explore and develop uses of instructional technology in their teaching, including working on instructional consulting teams for particular courses and faculty members and participating in guiding and organizing workshops.

REQUIREMENTS 
Must be a new or recent college graduate or masters/doctoral student in a technology-related field.  Must also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills; user support or equivalent experience working with people; ability to mentor and/or supervise undergraduate students; experience in developing and leading technology workshops; ability to work successfully and proactively in a team-based environment; ability to meet deadlines and detailed client requirement specifications; and project management experience.  Interest in the areas of instructional consulting in higher education and/or multimedia production for education is useful, but not required.

Graduate internships are typically 10-month academic year positions at a minimum of 30 hours per week, with the possibility of extension through summer.  Each intern is provided with 6 credit-hours per semester of graduate course tuition payments in an instructional technology (or related) program at an accredited college or university; employee benefits (including health insurance and eligibility to participate in retirement plan); and a monthly stipend of $1,800 - $1,950 dependent on experience and qualifications.
