Web Specialist
Full-time, 12-month, salaried position

ORGANIZATION
Library and Information Services, Web Team

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Web Specialist will work as part of the Web Team to develop and maintain the University's Web sites, with a focus on the external Web presence. The Web Team is a small, dynamic environment where the right applicant will have the opportunity to work with many diverse technologies. The Web Specialist will maintain sites built on Microsoft Server Technologies including Windows 2003 Server, Internet Information Server, SQL Server, and ASP Scripting. The position reports to the Creative Director of Web Services.

Essential functions include working with Windows Server 2003 and Server Technologies; designing and creating Web sites for external and internal audiences; managing content and/or providing content management tools to end users; collaborating with other developers to create and maintain Web-based interfaces; coordinating support and maintenance requirements with technical IT staff; and other duties at the direction of the Creative Director of Web Services as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS 
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline required.  Previous experience in coding, design or Web marketing preferred.  Must also have working knowledge of Windows Server 2003, SQL Server, and ASP; knowledge of Internet protocols and Web site development standards; familiarity with Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash/Actionscript, and XSL;  ability to hand-edit standards compliant XHTML/CSS; ability to support non-technical individuals in maintenance of Web sites; ability to translate user requests into technical requirements; graphic design and web layout competence; and oral/written communication competence.
