DePauw provides unparalleled opportunities for students to test and demonstrate their abilities through in-depth research projects. Opportunities are plentiful and varied - from an astronomy project at DePauw's McKim Observatory to studying literature and political theory at Oxford.

The DePauw approach to learning is distinctive. Here we combine the rigors and intellectual growth that accompany studying the liberal arts and sciences with practical application. On a per capita basis, we have more students in internships than most other liberal arts colleges.

Four out of five DePauw students prove to themselves and others the full scope of their talents and abilities by becoming involved in internship programs, some of which are paid and carry academic credit. Recent sites for DePauw internships include ABC News "Nightline", Indiana University School of Medicine, NASA Johnson Space Center and Chicago Blackhawks hockey team.

Student Profile

For the Winter Term in Service project in Costa Rica we’ll probably be working in a remote village of one of the four indigenous groups who still practice their native culture.  We’ll be helping to finish an aqueduct for drinking water.
