Campus Visit FAQ

How do I schedule a visit to campus?

You may schedule a campus visit by calling us at 800.447.2495, filling out our online visit request form, or emailing our Visit Coordinator, Anna Logan, at visit@depauw.edu

What does a campus visit consist of?

A standard campus visit consists of a campus tour and an appointment with an admission officer.  Students who want a more in-depth look at DePauw may request to visit a class, meet with a coach or faculty member and/or have lunch on campus.

Do I need to make a reservation for a visit?

We prefer that you make an appointment so that we may prepare a productive visit for you.  If we plan ahead, we can ensure that you will get all of the information you need while on campus.  However, we have families that drop in when they are "in the neighborhood" quite frequently, and our welcome mat is always out.

If I fly , is transportation available to and from campus?

There is no public transportation available between Greencastle and Indianapolis.  However, rental cars are available at the airport.  For prospective students traveling alone who fly in to visit DePauw, we will provide transportation to and from the airport with prior notice of flight details.

What is the cost of an overnight stay?

There is no cost for an overnight visit at DePauw.  We will provide the student with a place to stay and meal passes for three meals while on campus.  Students may choose to bring along extra cash for incidentals, such as a trip to the bookstore.

What do I bring for an overnight stay?

We provide the host and the room.  We recommend that you bring along your bedding (sleeping bag, pillow, blanket), towels, toiletries, etc.  Occasionally, our hosts have extra beds or futons in their rooms, but for the most part, prospective visitors will be 'camping out' on the floor of the dorm room.

Student Profile

I have really enjoyed getting out into the community by helping homeless animals, spending time with the elderly at Asbury Towers retirement facility, and developing the friendships I have established both in and out of the Bonner Scholar program.
