the Year; Bettis also a first team choice
DePauw senior Joe Ringger
was a unanimous pick for Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference
Player of the Year voting by the league's coaches. Senior Jeremy
Bettis was runner-up in the voting and also earned first team
honors.

Tigers outscore Pirates 8-0 in
final 2:46 to win SCAC regular season title
The Tigers gained their first
lead on Joe Ringger's bucket with 48 seconds left and held on for a
67-63 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win at Southwestern. The
Tigers outscored Southwestern 8-0 over the last 2:46 and 14-3 over the
final 5:50 to capture their
second consecutive SCAC title. DePauw has earned the number one seed and
will play Rhodes College at 1 p.m. in the first round of the SCAC
tournament on Thursday at Christian Brothers in Memphis.

one-game lead
The Tigers saw their
seven-game win streak come to an end in a 76-60 loss at Trinity. Joe
Ringger led the Tigers with 22 points, while Jeremy Bettis had 19 and a
career-high 16 points. DePauw still holds a one-game lead in the SCAC.

title.

Tigers win seventh straight;
Fenlon becomes winningest coach
Jeremy Bettis posted a
double-double with 18 points and a career-high equaling 14 rebounds to
lead DePauw to a 63-52 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win at
Rose-Hulman. The victory was the 183rd in coach Bill Fenlon's 11-year
DePauw career and broke the record of 182 wins held by Elmer McCall
(1958-78).

DePauw improved to 15-6

The Tigers improved to 13-6
overall and remained in first place in the SCAC at 8-1 with a 71-65 win
at Millsaps. The victory extended DePauw's SCAC road win streak to
eight straight and was their 10th in the last 11 games this season.
Jeremy Bettis led the Tigers with 19 and became the 20th player in
school history to score 1,000 career points.

Joe Ringger posted his ninth
double-double of the season with 20 points and 13 rebounds as DePauw
remained in first in the SCAC with a 78-68 win at Oglethorpe. Joey

the game and held visiting Sewanee to just 39 percent on the way to an
86-67 win. Joe Ringger led DePauw with 17 points followed by Alex

for his fourth straight double-double. Jeremy Bettis also recorded a
double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

nine-point win at Earlham
Joe Ringger posted his third
straight double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds to lead DePauw
to its fourth straight win-a 62-53 victory at Earlham. Wes Thornhill
scored 13 and Jeremy Bettis added 12 for the 7-5 Tigers. Nathan Stoops
led four Earlham double-figure scorers with 14. The Tigers outrebounded
the Quakers 38-27.

Ringger named SCAC co-Player of the Week
Senior Joe Ringger was named the
Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference co-Player of the Week
along with Trinity's Jason Morris for games from December 23-January
5. In four games, Ringger averaged 18.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in
just under 22 minutes per game. He posted back-to-back double-doubles
in SCAC weekend wins at Rhodes and Hendrix and equaled his career high
with 27 points against Rhodes. The honor is the third of his career
and first this season.

73-56 win at Hendrix
Jeremy Bettis paced the Tigers with 21,
while Jon Owens and Joe Ringger each added 10 in
a 73-56 SCAC win at Hendrix. Ringger posted a double-double with 11
boards as the Tigers held a 49-31 advantage on the boards.

97-68 victory at Rhodes in the first SCAC action. Joe Ringger equaled

DePauw beats Western Connecticut by 15
The Tigers improved to 4-5 on the season
with an 85-70 win over Western Connecticut in their final game at the
adidas D3 Desert Shootout in Las Vegas. Joe Ringger scored 24 points
and grabbed nine rebounds, while Jeremy Bettis added 22 points. Matt
Kleymeyer scored 10 in the win as well. The Tigers shot 55 percent
from the floor for the game including 62 percent in the second half.

Shootout
The Tigers led by as many as 11 early in
the second half after trailing much of the first half, but Loras
rallied with 56 second-half points to take an 80-69 win over DePauw at
the adidas D3 Desert Shootout in Las Vegas. The Tigers now face the
loser of the Western Connecticut game at 3:30 p.m. PST on

64-58 win at the Neal Fieldhouse. Matt Abernethy led Grace with 21

After leading the Tigers to two weekend
wins and the Franklin Goaltenders-Bankers Classic championship, senior
forward Jeremy Bettis has earned
Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors. Bettis
totaled 45 points and 22 rebounds and was the tournament MVP. That
included a career-high 14 rebounds against IU-Southeast on Friday
along with a career-high equaling 25 points.

The Tigers knocked off Franklin by a 68-59 score in the title game of
the Franklin Goaltenders-Bankers Classic. Jeremy Bettis was named the
tournament MVP, while Joe Ringger and Jon Owens also earned
all-tournament honors.

Jeremy Bettis equaled a career high with
25 points and established a new career mark with 14 rebounds to lead
DePauw to a 90-77 win over Indiana-Southeast in the first game of the
Franklin Goaltenders-Bankers Classic. Jon Owens added 16 points, five
assists and three steals, while Alex Stewart scored a career-high 13
and Joe Ringger added 12. Cole Sinclair paced the 6-8 Grenadiers with
20 points. The 2-2 Tigers advance to play Franklin in the championship

DePauw falls to Lakers in consolation game
Jeremy Bettis scored 13 points and grabbed
seven rebounds to lead the Tigers, but Purdue-Calumet beat DePauw
62-46 in the consolation game of the Wabash Tipoff Tournament. DePauw
fell behind, 7-0 in the first 6:22, but rallied to take as much as a
six-point lead in the first half. The Tigers trailed just 39-38 eight
minutes into the second half, but the Lakers gradually pulled away and
led by as many as 18. The Tigers shot just 33 percent from the field
and only 27 percent in the second half.

Tigers drop season opener to Illinois Wesleyan
The 14th-ranked Tigers fell behind by as
many as 22 in the first half before rallying to within eight on two
occasions in the second half, but fell in the season opener to Illinois Wesleyan, 77-64.
The Tigers now face Purdue-Calumet in the consolation game of the
Wabash Tipoff Tournament at 6 p.m. on Saturday. Joe Ringger posted a
double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds, while Jeremy Bettis
added 20 and Jon Owens equaled a career-high with 13. John Camardella
led five Titans in double figures with 19 points and also grabbed 10
rebounds.

ranked 14th in the nation. DePauw picked up a total of 255 points in
the poll. Washington (Mo.) whom the Tigers defeated in last year's

DePauw is the preseason pick
to repeat in SCAC coaches' poll
With three starters and nine letterman returning from last year's
24-4 squad that advanced to the Division III quarterfinals, the Tigers
are the coaches' pick to repeat as Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference champions. DePauw, 16-2 in SCAC play last year, received
seven of the 10 first-place votes and totaled 97 of a possible 100
points. Trinity picked up the other three first-place tallies and 93
points. Rose-Hulman was third with 69 points followed by Centre with
66 and Southwestern with 62.
