Tigers' season comes to end with 4-2 loss to
Otterbein
Phil Smith and Justin Wallace each scored goals for
the Tigers, but Otterbein scored twice in the final 30
minutes to win 4-2. The loss ends the Tigers' season at
12-5-2.
Tigers to face Otterbein in first game of Great Lakes
Regional
Otterbein topped Earlham 1-0 at Earlham
on Wednesday afternoon to advance to the four-team Great
Lakes Regional at Ohio Wesleyan on November 14-15. DePauw
takes on the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at Ohio
Wesleyan. The second game pits Alma against the host
Battling Bishops.
Tigers
make return trip to NCAA Championship
The 12-4-2 Tigers have earned a bid to
the NCAA Division III Championship and play on Saturday.
The Tigers will take on the winner of Wednesday's
Otterbein at Earlham game on Saturday at a time to be
determined at Ohio Wesleyan. The other game on Saturday
features Alma at Ohio Wesleyan. The regional championship

Tigers wrap up regular season with 5-2
win at Rose-Hulman; NCAA bids announced Sunday
Five differnt Tigers scored in DePauw's
5-2 win at SCAC foe Rose-Hulman on Friday. The win lifts
the Tigers to 12-4-2 overall and 6-2-1 in the SCAC and
was the final regular season contest for the Old Gold.
Justin Wallace scored at the 15:01 mark with an assist
from J.R. Foster, but the Engineers knotted the score at
1-1 just 48 seconds later. Foster scored at the 18:56
mark to make it 2-1. Corbin Sutton and Ryan Winkler made
it 4-1 before the hosts struck again for a 4-2 halftime
score. Ryan Dullea scored the lone goal of the second
half. The Tigers will now await word from the NCAA
regarding a bid to the postseason tournament which begins
with first-round games on November 11. The tournament
pairings will be announced Sunday evening. The Tigers are
currently ranked first in the Great Lakes Region by the
NSCAA.
Sweep of Rhodes and Hendrix makes
postseason hopes promising
The Tigers handed Rhodes its only
conference loss and then blanked Hendrix to improve to
11-4-2 overall and 5-2-1 in their first season in the
Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Tigers
topped Rhodes 2-0 on the strength of two goals from
Corbin Sutton and a shutout in goal from Adam Lux. They
then shut out Hendrix 6-0 with J.R. Foster leading the
way with a pair of goals.
Tigers rebound with big win over
Sewanee
Following a tough 1-0 overtime loss at
Centre on Saturday, the Tigers battled back to defeat
Sewanee 1-0 in an SCAC game. Phil Smith scored the
game-winner with 15:28 left in regulation on an assist
from Aaron Pollack. The win lifted the Tigers overall
record to 9-4-2 overall and 3-2-1 in the SCAC. On
Saturday, the Tigers battled Centre to a 0-0 scoreless
time, but the host Colonels won the game in the first
overtime with a goal.
Third straight overtime game results
in a tie
For the third straight time the Tigers
went to overtime, but this time they finished tied with
Southwestern 0-0. TheTigers outshot the Pirates 30-24 and
Adam Lux recorded the shutout in goal.
Tigers lose heartbreaker to Trinity in
second overtime
For the second straight game the Tigers
lost in overtime and this time the Tigers lost a late
lead in the process in losing 4-3 in two overtimes at
Trinity in an SCAC game. DePauw led 2-1 and 3-2 before
Trinity sent the game into overtime with a score with
2:31 left in regulation. The game-winner came with 6:54
left in the second overtime on a penalty kick that came
as a result of a handball call against the Tigers. Tiger
goals came from Jon Klinginsmith, Justin Wallace and Coy
Conner. Adam Lux recorded 12 saves in goal. The 15th-
ranked Tigers, with the loss, fell to 8-3-1 overall and
2-1 in the SCAC.
Tigers lose in overtime to host Little
Giants
It hadn't happed in the last 14
meetings and not since 1984, but for the first time in 14
years, the Tigers lost on the soccer field to Wabash
College. Ryan Dullea scored 7:25 into the second half,
but the Little Giants knotted the score 10 minutes later.
Wabash scored the game-winner 10 minutes into the first
overtime. The Tigers, ranked seventh in NCAA Division III
play, fell to 8-2-1 with the loss.
Tigers top Anderson, 5-2
The Tigers jumped out to a 3-0 lead and
held on for a 5-2 win over visiting Anderson. J.R. Foster
scored once and added two assists to pace the Old Gold.
In all, five different Tigers scored goals in the win.
The Tigers are now 8-1-1 on the season for their best
record after 10 games since the 1986 season. DePauw's

With two wins and a tie last week, the
Tigers men's soccer team (7-1-1) moved up one spot to
seventh in the latest Division III rankings. The Tigers host Anderson on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

Justin Wallace provided the
game-winning goal with an assist from Aaron Pollack with
just 20 seconds left in the first half as DePauw defeated
Millsaps 1-0 at Boswell Field. The win lifted the Tigers'
overall record to 7-1-1 and their Southern Collegiate
Athletic Conference mark to 2-0. The eighth-ranked Tigers

open SCAC play with 1-0 win over Oglethorpe
Coy Conner's goal just 11:19 into the
match was all the Tigers needed in defeating Oglethorpe
1-0. The Tigers outshot the Stormy Petrels 31-7 in the
first SCAC contest for the Old Gold. Adam Lux recorded
the save in goal. DePauw, ranked eighth in Division III
and first in the Great Lakes Region, is 6-1-1.
Battle of top two teams in Great Lakes
Region ends in 0-0 tie
The Tigers and Quakers battled for 120
minutes on Wednesday at Boswell Field, but neither team
managed a goal in the 0-0 tie. DePauw outshot the
visitors 10-9 in a battle of the first (DePauw) and
second (Earlham) ranked teams in the Great Lakes Region. DePauw

Tigers move to 8th in Division III
poll; face 16th-ranked Earlham on Wednesday
With two wins last week, the Tigers
moved up to eighth in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America
Division III poll. The Tigers
are ranked first in the Great Lakes Region and host
16th-ranked Earlham on Wednesday. The Tigers are
currently ranked first in the Great Lakes Region and
Earlham is second.
14th-ranked Tigers improve to 5-1 with
3-0 win at Principia
The Tigers scored three first-half
goals on the way to a 3-0 win at Principia. DePauw, ranked 14th in Division
III, hosts 23rd ranked Earlham on Wednesday.
Foster's second game-winner boosts
Tigers to overtime win
J.R. Foster booted the game-winning
goal less than two minutes into overtime to lift the
Tigers to a 2-1 win over Hanover. The Tigers scored first
on Justin Wallace's first half goal from Derron Harris'
assist late in the first half. Hanover tied the game
early in the second half before Foster untied it on Coy
Conner's assist.
Tigers knock off 14th-ranked Battling
Bishops
The Tigers scored two goals in each
half on the way to defeating 14th-ranked Ohio Wesleyan,
4-0 at Boswell Field. The win was the first by a DePauw
team over the Bishops since a 1-0 overtime win in 1990
and just the fourth in 24 games all-time.
Foster scores lone goal; Lux posts
shutout in Tigers' 1-0 win at Hope
The Tigers improved to 2-1 on the
season with a 1-0 shutout at Hope. Freshman J.R. Foster
scored early in the first half and the Tigers held the
Flying Dutchmen scoreless for the win.
