November 3, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw senior defender Beau Sorg has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V Men's Soccer Team. Sorg was a second team selection in the College Division in voting by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Sorg has played 14 games for the 12-4-1 Tigers and started 13 and leads the team with six goals and 14 total points. He's added two assists and shares the team lead with three game-winning goals.
A second team all-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference player last year, Sorg also earned all-Great Lakes Region Third Team honors as a junior. The team captain has been named to the DePauw Dean's List four semesters and to the conference's academic honor roll.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
