October 22, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — The DePauw softball team has earned All-Academic Team honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for the 2008-09 academic year.
The Tigers posted a 3.359 team grade point average for the year which ranked 14th in Division III. The complete list of 77 Division III institutions which posted at least a 2.8 grade point average is available here.
DePauw also had a successful season in winning its second straight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference title, finishing with a 32-9 overall record and advancing to the final game of the NCAA Division III first round.
Last spring, three Tigers including Megan Soultz, Chelsy Patterson and Ashlee Anton earned ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors.
The Tigers also earned the NFCA distinction in 2007.
