November 3, 2009, Greencastle, Ind. — DePauw junior defender Alex Johnson has been selected as Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, October 26 through Sunday, November 1.
Johnson anchored a Tiger back line which recorded three shutouts during the week. For the year, no player that Johnson has marked has recorded a goal.
He also picked up an assist on the only goal scored for the Tigers in the 1-0 shutout win over Rose-Hulman.
Johnson shared the honor with Centre's Aaron Arndt.
DePauw, 12-4-1 overall and 6-3 in the SCAC, hosts Centre College on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in the regular season finale.
