Walse
earns first all-America honor in program history
Junior midfielder
Beth Walse is the first female in DePauw soccer
history to earn all-America honors as she was
named to the National Soccer Coaches Association
of America Division III first team. Current men's
assistant Brian Jaworski is the only other soccer
player in DePauw history to earn the distinction.
Walse led the eighth-ranked Tigers with 16 goals
and 41 points and was second with nine assists.
Four Tigers named
to all-region team
Four DePauw
players have been named to the National Soccer
Coaches Association of America Great Lakes Region
team. Junior midfielder Beth Walse and sophomore
Lizzie Ephraim were first team selections, while
seniors Amy Ferone and Erica Henrich were third
team choices. Walse and Ephraim are now eligible
for all-America consideration.
Tigers ranked eighth in
final Division III poll
Following the best
season in school history, the Tigers finished
with a number-eight ranking in Division III
according to the National Soccer Coaches
Association of America.
Walse named SCAC co-Player
of the Year; Carter named Coach of the Year
Junior midfielder
Beth Walse earned SCAC co-Player of the Year
honors along with Trinity's Katy Holland in
voting by the conference coaches. Walse led the
Tigers with 16 goals and 41 points. Head coach
John Carter was named the SCAC Coach of the Year
for leading the Tigers to the league title with a
perfect 9-0 record and also to the Great Lakes
championship game.Sophomore sweeper Lizzie
Ephraim and senior goalkeeper Erica Henrich also
earned first team honors. Senior midfielder Amy
Ferone and freshman forward Michelle Aymond were
named to the second team.
Tigers' record-setting
season comes to an end at region final
Wheaton's Denise
Peck scored just 4:15 into the second half and it
was all the Crusaders needed in beating the
Tigers 1-0 in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes
Regional Championship. Wheaton outshot the Tigers
20-17 and the Tigers held a 5-3 advantage in
corners. DePauw finished the season with a 16-3-2
record.

Wesleyan 1-0; faces Wheaton in NCAA Great Lakes
final
Beth Walse scored
in the 60th minute and the Tigers recorded their
17th shutout of the season in defeating
number-two ranked and 19-0 Ohio Wesleyan, 1-0 in
the NCAA Great Lakes semifinals. The Tigers
advance to the regional final for a rematch with
Wheaton at 7 p.m. on Saturday at Ohio Wesleyan.

Beth Walse,
Michelle Aymond each scored for the Tigers and
the Old Gold finished with its 16th shutout of
the season as they blanked Capital 3-0 in NCAA
first-round play. The win lifted the Tigers to a
15-2-2 record and into a second-round match with
19-0 Ohio Wesleyan University on Friday at 7:30
p.m. The game is at Ohio Wesleyan. The DePauw
victory also set the school record for wins in a
season.

DePauw to host Capital in
NCAA first-round game on Wednesday
The Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference champion Tigers
host Capital University of Columbus, Ohio, this
Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the first round of the
NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship.
The winner travels to Ohio Wesleyan for a Friday
or Saturday meeting with the 19-0 Battling
Bishops in the Great Lakes Regional semifinals.

Tigers wrap up SCAC crown;
await NCAA information
The Tigers
finished a perfect 9-0 record in SCAC play with
Sunday's 2-0 win over visiting Sewanee. Christen
Kennedy and Michelle Aymond scored the goals and
the Tigers recorded their 15th shutout of the
season.

regular season with a 14-2-2 mark.
Tigers earn share of SCAC
crown and bid to NCAA Championship
Michelle Aymond
scored twice and the Tigers posted their 14th
shutout of the season as they blanked visiting Centre, 2-0. The win gives the Tigers at least a
share of the Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference title. DePauw has clinched the
conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Division
III Championship which starts next week. |

Tigers' win streak comes
to an end at Kalamazoo
The Tigers, ranked
15th in Division III, lost for the first time
since early September as they fell at 23rd-ranked
Kalamazoo, 2-1. The host Hornets scored in the
sixth minute before Beth Walse knotted the score
in the 32nd minute with an assist from Megan
Bevington. Kalamazoo scored the game-winner in
the 57th minute. The loss snapped the Tigers'
school-record 11-game win streak.
DePauw breaks school
records for consecutive wins and shutouts with
2-0 shutout win over Rose-Hulman
The Tigers scored
two first-half goals on the way to their
school-record 11th straight victory in defeating
visiting Rose-Hulman 2-0. The 15th-ranked Tigers
also broke the school record with their 12th
shutout of the season.

Tigers blank Millsaps in
record-setting game
The Tigers equaled
the single-season record for shtouts with 11 and
consecutive victories (10) in a 13-0 win at Millsaps. The 13 goals broke the school record of
12. Kristi Merrill scored thre goals, while Beth Walse, Megan Bevington and Christina Matteucci
each added two. The win lifted the 14th-ranked
Tigers to an 11-1-2 overall record and a 6-0-0
mark in SCAC play.

more on the second on the way to a 3-0 win at
Oglethorpe. Michelle Aymond, Kristi Merrll and

Michelle Aymond scored on a

the Tigers a 1-0 victory over visiting

Amy Ferone's goal with 10

Trinity University in a battle of top-25 teams.
Trinity, ranked 25th in Division III, entered the

DePauw entered the contest ranked 18th in the
nation. The Tigers recorded their sixth shutout
of the season with Erica Henrich in goal.

second-ranked Washington University. Eric Henrich

After being shut out in three
straight games, the Tigers broke through with a
5-0 win over visiting Calvin. Kristi Merrill,
playing her first game this season after sitting
out with an injury, scored the first goal and
added two assists in the win. Beth Walse scored
twice, while Michelle Aymond and Nancy Clutter
also added goals. Eric Henrich posted her fourth
shutout of the season for the 2-1-2 Tigers.
Henrich named SCAC Player of the Week
The Tigers recorded a pair of
ties last week, but thanks to goalkeeper Erica
Henrich, both were shutouts. For her efforts, she
was named SCAC Player of the Week. During the
week, Henrich recorded 11 saves in 240 minutes in
goal.
DePauw posts third shutout, but fails to
score for third straight game
For the second straight game
the Tigers played 120 minutes and finished
deadlocked at 0-0. The Tigers outshot visiting
Chicago16-10, but couldn't reach the back of the
net for the third straight contest. Goalkeeper
Erica Henrich posted her third shutout and
recorded seven saves.

The Tigers hosted Earlham
College in the home opener and the teams battled
for 120 minutes to a scoreless tie. DePauw
outshot Earlham 26-5 in ther deadlock.
