Walse named all-American for second straight season
Senior midfielder Beth Walse earned second team all-America honors from the
National Soccer Coaches Association of America after earning first team honors
last season. Walse finished her DePauw career ranked fourth in goals (41) and
points (115) and fifth in assists (33). This season she led the Tigers with 14
goals and 11 assists. Walse was a first team all-Great Lakes Region choice as
was sophomore Lizzie Ephraim.
Six Tiger players earn all-conference honors
A total of six DePauw players have earned all-Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference distinction in voting conducted by the head coaches at the 10 SCAC
schools. Corinne Scott and Beth Walse earned first team honors while Megan
Bevington, Lizzie Ephraim, Allison Glibkowski and Brigid Roche were second team
choices.
Tigers move up one spot to 12th in final Division III regular season
poll
DePauw finished the regular season with a 12-2-2 mark and moved up to 12th
in the final Division III poll by the National Soccer Coaches Association
of America.
DePauw closes out season with 4-0 shutout win at Centre; denied spot in
NCAA Championship field
The Tigers finished the season at 12-2-2 overall and 8-1 (second place) in
the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference after defeating Centre 4-0. All four goals came in the first half and
were scored by Michelle Aymond, Christina Matteucci, Megan Bevington and
Beth Walse. The Tigers did not earn a spot in the 45-team field NCAA
Championship field.

Tigers win at Sewanee, 4-1
DePauw improved to 11-2-2 overall and 7-1 in the Southern Collegiate
Athletic Conference with a 4-1 win at Sewanee. Beth Walse gave the
Tigers a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute before Megan Bevington made it 2-0
early in the second half. The hosts cut the gap to 2-1, but DePauw
responded with scores from Jocelyn Keller and Kristi Merrill. Emily
Hakeman assisted on two goals with Walse adding another.

13th-ranked Tigers fall to top-ranked Thunder, 1-0
Visiting Wheaton College, ranked first in Division III, scored in the 13th
minute and made it hold up in defeating 13th-ranked DePauw 1-0. Julianna Hawkins
provided the victory margin at the 12:41 mark with an assist from Elizabeth
Mahon. DePauw outshot the Thunder 23-11 and held an 8-2 advantage in corner
kicks. The Tigers fell to 10-2-2, while Wheaton improved to 14-1-1.

DePauw blanks Rose-Hulman, 5-0
The 13th-ranked Tigers traveled to Terre Haute to face Rose-Hulman Institute of
Technology and returned
with a 5-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference victory. Michelle Aymond
scored twice, while Jocelyn Keller scored one goal and assisted on another. Also
adding goals were Kristi Merrill and Kate Gehring. Allison Glibkowski and Mary
Kathryn Hancock combined for the shutout in goal. The Tigers improved to 10-1-2
overall and 6-1 in the SCAC and host number-one ranked Wheaton at 1:30 p.m. on
Saturday.

Tigers ranked 13th in Division III
DePauw remains ranked, nationally, as they are 13th in the latest poll by the
National
Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Ninth-ranked Tigers' unbeaten streak comes to an end at Trinity
DePauw, ranked ninth in Division III, lost for the first time in the 2000 season
as they dropped a 6-1 decision at fourth-ranked Trinity. DePauw fell behind 2-0
in the first half and Trinity added four more goals in the first 22:36 of the
second half to take the win. Beth Walse added a late goal for the Tigers who
fell to 9-1-2 overall and 5-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.

DePauw remains unbeaten with 1-0 win over Southwestern
The ninth-ranked Tigers improved to 9-0-2 on the season and 5-0 in the Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference with a 1-0 win at Southwestern University. Beth
Walse scored the game-winner for the Old Gold on an assist from Kristi Merrill
with just 15 minutes left in the second half.
The Tigers outshot the Pirates 13-6 and Mary Palecek recorded two saves in
picking up the shutout.

Tigers move up to ninth in national poll
With three wins last week the Tigers have moved up one spot to ninth in the
latest Division III poll from the
National Soccer
Coaches Association of America.
10th-ranked Tigers blank Oglethorpe, 5-0
Beth Walse and Corinne Scott each scored twice and Megan Bevington added a
second-half penalty kick as the Tigers shut out visiting Oglethorpe, 5-0. Mary
Palecek and Mary Kathryn Hancock shared the shutout in goal for the Tigers who
improved to 8-0-2 overall and 4-0 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference.

Tigers remain unbeaten with win over Millsaps
The 10th-ranked Tigers remained unbeaten at 7-0-2 with a 13-0 win over visiting
Millsaps. The win lifts DePauw's SCAC record to 3-0. Nine different players
scored led by Kristi Merrill, Michelle Aymond, Kelly Fitz and Jocelyn Keller
with two apiece. Aymond added two assists as the Tigers tied the school record
for goals in a game.

10th-ranked Tigers defeat Earlham 4-1
With all of the scoring coming in the first half, the Tigers improved to
6-0-2 as they defeated Earlham 4-1 on the road. Kristi Merrill, Christina
Matteucci, Corinne Scott and Alexis Fuller scored for the Tigers with two
assists coming from Beth Walse and one each from Rachel Miller and
Matteucci.

The host Maroons scored on a
penalty kick in the 21st minute, but DePauw came right back with a goal six
minutes later as Kristi Merrill scored on an assist from Corinne Scott. DePauw
outshot Chicago 20-12 and held an 11-2 advantage in corners. The Tigers remain
unbeaten at 5-0-2.

Beth Walse scored three goals and assisted on another and Tara
Bevington added a pair of goals in the Tigers' 8-1 win over visiting
Rhodes. The win for the fifth-ranked Tigers was their 15th straight in
SCAC play and their 14th consecutive victory at Boswell Field.

Sixth-ranked Tigers battle back
to beat Ohio Wesleyan 3-2 in two overtimes
Beth Walse's goal with two minutes left in the second overtime period
lifted the Tigers to a 3-2 win over visiting and ninth-ranked Ohio Wesleyan. The goal was
set up by Alexis Fuller's game-tying score with just 45 seconds left in
regulation.

DePauw moved up one spot to sixth in the latest
National
Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III poll. The Tigers
are ranked first in the Great Lakes Region and host the second-ranked team
in the region, Ohio Wesleyan, on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Battling Bishops
are ranked ninth in Division III.

The game against Wittenberg at Boswell Field has been canceled due to weather.
It will not be rescheduled.
Tigers score six in the first half on
the way to 7-0 win against Saint Mary's
Seventh-ranked DePauw scored its seven goals in the first 49 minutes of the
game, including six in the first half, on the way to a 7-0 win over visiting
Saint Mary's. Freshman Corinne Scott scored a first-half hatrick to lead the 3-0
Tigers.

Walse named SCAC Player of the
Week
Senior Beth Walse was named
Southern
Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week after the season's
first week of play. Walse scored once each in a win over John Carroll and
a tie against Denison. Her goal against Denison tied the score and forced
the overtime.
DePauw
ranked seventh in nation and tops in Great Lakes Region
The Tigers are ranked seven in the nation and first in the initial
Divison III poll
according to the
National
Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Tigers tie Big Red 1-1
Beth Walse's goal in the 75th minute tied the game with Denison
at 1-1, but neither team was able to score in the two overtimes and the ended in
a tie. Denison outshot the Tigers 18-10.

in season opener
All four DePauw seniors
contributed to the scoring in the Tigers' 3-0 win over John Carroll at the
Denison Big Red Classic. Seniors Kristi Merrill, Christina Matteucci and
Beth Walse each scored goals, while freshmen Jocelyn Keller and Corinne
Scott and seniors Merrill and Rachel Miller added assists.

Tigers picked
second in SCAC preseason poll
The defending Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference champion Tigers have
been tabbed to finish second this season according to a poll of the
conference coaches. Trinity edged out DePauw by a 96-93 point total.
Trinity had six first-place votes to DePauw's four. Michelle Aymond,
Lizzie Ephraim and last year's SCAC co-Player of the Year, Beth Walse,
were named to the preseason all-conference team.
Tigers ranked fifth in preseason poll
DePauw is ranked fifth in the National
Soccer Coaches Association of America Division III Women's preseason poll. The
Tigers advanced to the round of 16 in last year's NCAA Division III
Championship, finished with a 16-3-2 record and the Southern Collegiate Athletic
Conference title.
