What's the process?
- ITAP First-Year, Sophomore and Junior interns review the ITAP Classifieds to identify positions for which they wish to apply. The ITAP Classifieds contains the list of on-campus internships for the following school year and is published online right after spring break.
- To apply for one of the internships listed, Interns submit their application materials (cover letter, résumé, link to eportfolio) directly to the internship Host sponsor. They may contact as many Hosts as they wish and interview for multiple positions. Similarly, an internship Host may interview and consider as many Associates as they wish.
- Once an internship host site has interviewed a candidate to whom they would like to offer their position, they do so by informing the student and Angie Smock (asmock@depauw.edu), Assistant Coordinator of ITAP. ITAP Interns who are offered positions should respond either affirmatively or negatively to the Host. If an Intern needs additional time to consider an internship offer, he/she should make this request to the host sponsor promptly.
- Once an Intern has accepted an offer to fill a position, he/she and the Host sponsors confirm their final agreement by filling out and signing a "Position Acceptance Form," which is available in the reception area of Julian 131 (in the brochure rack immediately inside the door).
Before or during the interview process, the ITAP program coordinators will gladly meet with any ITAP Intern who would like assistance in preparing to interview or in finding and selecting an internship.
