Kara Stolle is principal bassoonist with the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra. In addition to her position as principal bassoonist and personnel manager with the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra, Kara is also a baroque bassoonist with the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra and has performed as an extra musician with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. An active studio musician, Kara also maintains a large studio of students in Indianapolis. She received her bachelor’s degree in music performance from Butler University and her master’s degree from the Indiana University School of Music in Bloomington, IN. Her teachers have included Homer Pence, Charles Rader and Kim Walker on modern bassoon and Michael McCraw on baroque bassoon. Appointed 2002.
