Hiring of Bill Lynch Receives Wide Media Coverage
December 21, 2012
In an interview with Indianapolis Fox affiliate WXIN-TV, Bill Lynch speaks of his excitement at being named DePauw University's new head football coach. He tells the station that he's "really, really impressed with the administration over at DePauw and what their vision (is) and their support of athletics. I was fortunate to get the position and am excited to get going."
Lynch was named to the post Thursday morning and officially begins on January 2. Formerly the head football coach at Indiana, Ball State and Butler universities, Lynch has been serving as associate director of athletics at Butler. He coached the Tigers nine seasons ago, leading DePauw to an 8-2 record and being named Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference "Coach of the Year."
He tells the station's Brittany Diehl, "You know, I'd spent a year there in 2004 and had a great experience there and never thought this opportunity would come again."

The story received widespread media attention, including a nationally distributed Associated Press summary which ESPN, the Washington Post, and many other outlets carried, an Indianapolis Star article, and a piece in Greencastle's Banner-Graphic.
