The main facility for informal recreation on the campus of DePauw is the Lilly Center Physical Education and Recreation Center. Lilly Center was open in 1982. The $7.2 million all-purpose facility is designed to house men's and women's intercollegiate athletics, intramurals, physical education department classrooms and offices, leisure time sports, concerts, and intercollegiate athletic contests. Facilities located in the Lilly Center include:
Neal Fieldhouse
Provides space for three basketball court, five tennis courts, seven volleyball courts, eight badminton courts, a four-lane (10-laps-to-the-mile) track with a five 55-meter straightaway and pit for field events, and a press box. The fieldhouse may be divided into three separate areas to isolate activities. The main basketball court can be arranged to seat a maximum of 3,200.
Auxiliary Gymnasium
Located on the second floor provides one full-size basketball court, one tennis court, three badminton courts, one volleyball court, three fencing lanes, golf hitting net, and 18- and 25-meter archery firing lanes.
Fitness Center
The newly renovated fitness center has 6000 total square feet of workout space including 3000 square feet for free weights. The fitness center also includes state of the art cardiovascular equipment and selectorized weight machines.
Indoor Pool
The swimming pool is 25-yards by 25-meters, offering eight competition or free swim lanes. There is also a one-meter diving board and a three-meter diving board.
Dance Studio
Provides space for aerobics, jazzercise, ballet, and dance.
Racquetball Courts
Located on the ground floor are six racquetball courts which can be used for racquetball or handball. One of the courts is also set-up for squash play. In addition four of the courts can be used for walleyball.
Mat Room
Located on the second floor this room can be used by martial arts, wrestling, and gymnastics.
