Educational and Awareness Programs

Public Safety offers several programs to the university community, aimed at the education, awareness and prevention of crime. Programming in the areas of personal safety, sexual assault awareness prevention and response, alcohol abuse, narcotics and dangerous drugs, traffic safety and parking regulations, fire safety and theft prevention are only a few of those available.

The escort program, personal property engraving, security analysis and surveys are also examples of services designed to aid in the prevention of crime.  Public Safety Officers are coupled with Residence Life Coordinators and Greek Life Coordinators to do programs throughout the year. Each pair of RLCs/Officers will do two programs in the residence halls each semester. These programs will be designed to meet the needs of the particular area, based on the input from the students, RLC and Officer.

Programs are also available upon request to any student organization, group or other University community members. For more information please contact Captain Charlene Shrewsbury or call 765-658-4261.
