| NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Final Four |
Tickets for this weekend's NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Final Four in Springfield, Massachusetts, are on sale at the Lilly Center office today from 8:30am to 1pm. The DePauw women's basketball team will be in action both days (Friday @ 4pm and Saturday @ 12:30 or 3pm). Tickets are $10 for each day.
If you plan to make the trip to Springfield, please be sure to pick up your tickets in advance by 1pm today. There is no guarantee tickets would be available when you arrive at Springfield College. Contact the athletic department at drust@depauw.edu or 658-4934 if you have questions.

This week's Hump program features guest speaker Sister Sabina Stella Santana. Her presentation is entitled: Empowering Women to Fight Oppressive Conditions.
More about the Guest Speaker:
Ms. Santana was born and raised in Uganda, studied in Kenya and did her research among the Bantu of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Malawi. She has a Master’s Degree in Education and a Degree in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. She taught school for fifteen years before devoting her life completely to fighting traditions that oppress women. She has traveled to more than 22 countries in the world creating awareness about the cause for which she founded, an organization known as: Shifting Ideas Through Education for African Women Incorporated.
Since 2001, Ms. Santana has given 189 awareness talks in the U.S.A. regarding female genital cutting. She also led a group of people to East Africa to do a documentary about Female Circumcision. Ms. Santana has also published numerous books they include: Out of a Dark and Narrow Tunnel; a Struggle to Be, Break the Silence; Break the Chains, One Hundred and One Poems and Homemade Tongue Twisters for Children, Ten Happy Ending Children’s Stories Vol. 1 & 2 and many songs and games.
During her free time she volunteers and teaches East African music and dances to WAMIDAN Ensemble at Wabash College. Some students at DePauw are members of this group.

The Commons Project Essay Contest
The Commons Project at DePauw University is a grant-supported initiative that works toward the constructive engagement of science and religion.
Please address the following in approximately 1500 words:
“Is it rational to believe in God or the divine in an age of science?”
Top prize in value of $300 and other prizes may be awarded.
Deadline for entry is Wednesday, April 4. Please submit papers to marjorielytle@depauw.edu.
Entries will be judged by the Commons Project Steering Committee, consisting of faculty, staff, and student representatives.
The Commons Project is funded by a grant from the Metanexus Institute. |

| The Margaret Gilmore Library Science Scholarship - Spring 2007 |
The Margaret Gilmore Library Science Scholarship is a one year scholarship awarded to a DePauw alumna (or a graduating woman) who is planning a career in library and information science. The successful applicant will be awarded the scholarship for graduate study in an accredited graduate library school. The deadline for application is May 1, 2007 for the coming academic year.
Guidelines from the will of Margaret Gilmore state that applicants are to be “selected on the basis of personality, character, and scholastic ability,” and that, “each recipient is to make her own choice of Graduate School.”
You may apply for the scholarship by sending a letter of application, a resume and two letters of reference to:
