| Laugh Off |
Wednesday, April 4 at 7:30pm (DePauw semi-finals)
Friday April 13 at 7pm (Finals against Wabash)
Do you think you are funny?
Do others tell you are? Well, maybe as long as you think you are.
We need comedians for The 3rd Annual Laugh-Off being held by Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity this April.
Laugh Off is a philanthropy comedy competition against Wabash. Each school holds a stand-up comedy show and fund-raisers in an attempt to raise more money than the other. Clearly, DePauw will win this. At which point we will hold the finals where the top 3 comics from DePauw and the top 3 from Wabash compete in a stand-up competition. All money raised at the event will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
If you are interested in being a comic, please contact Shannon Trabert at or Liz Heiser. |

“The GeoWall: Stereo Projection in the Science Classroom”
PAUL MORIN
National Center for Earth Surface Dynamics
Department of Geology & Geophysics at University of Minnesota
Sponsored by:
• Department of Geosciences
• Science Research Fellows Program
• GIS Center
Description:
The Geosciences, Chemistry, Astronomy and other sciences all have problems conveying complex spatial data to students. The GeoWall is a low-cost stereo display system that can aid in understanding 3-D and 4-D concepts using off-the-shelf hardware combined with public domain and commercial software. Currently, over 30,000 non-major geoscience
students use this technology in class. Although this talk will discuss the use of the GeoWall in the classroom with applications in Geology, Astronomy and Chemistry, the GeoWall can be an important tool for other disciplines (e.g., Biology, Computer Science, Art, etc.) as well. |
