Housing Application Process for Incoming Students
Application Process
Incoming students will receive access to the housing application within two weeks of submitting their enrollment deposit. The housing application can be access through DePauw's student housing software, Residence. Students will be notified via email when the application is available for them to complete. Students will access Residence through their student portal in e-Services.
In the housing application, students will complete their roommate matching profile, submit their building and floor type preferences, and indicate interest in our intentional communities and living learning communities (LLCs). Once students have submitted their housing applications, they can then create a roommate group with someone they know and would like to reside with or search for a potential roommate within their student housing portals.
The roommate profile is where students should indicate their living style characteristics and what they are looking for in a roommate. It is important for students to complete this profile honestly so they can be placed with an ideal roommate match. If a student does not create a roommate group on their own, Residence will match students together based on the roommate matching profile.
To assess the needs of the incoming class, the housing placement process for incoming students occurs after the application deadline. The application deadline for 2025-2026 is May 30, 2025 at 12:00 PM EST.

Housing Assignments
Housing assignments for incoming students will be available on students’ Residence portals in mid-June. Housing assignments will be released to students through their DePauw email address. Through Residence, students will be able to access the name and email address of their roommate(s) and more information about their assigned residence hall community. We encourage students to keep their username and password in a safe place because they will need to use them to log into Residence to view housing assignment and roommate(s) information.
Requesting Housing or Dietary Accommodations
Living in a residence with and dining with other community members is integral to the DePauw experience. Students with unique requirements who may need special housing accommodations are encouraged to contact Student Accessibility Services prior to the housing application deadline. This could include medical conditions, impairments, or other conditions that substantially limit a major life activity. Housing and Residence Life will do its best to meet housing accommodation requests submitted after the application deadline but cannot guarantee that the accommodation or other residential requests such as room type, roommate requests, building location, etc. will be able to be met. Approved ADA housing requests will be sent from Student Accessibility Services to Housing and Residence Life.
