Welcome

Brian W. CaseyFor nearly 175 years, DePauw University has been an important part of the landscape of American higher education. DePauw has an historic commitment to bringing students from diverse backgrounds together with first-class faculty, providing future leaders with the opportunity to work closely with outstanding scholars and with other students from around the world. We are nationally recognized for our extraordinary effectiveness in linking a strong liberal arts education with life’s work, preparing our students for exceptional success in an increasingly diverse and rapidly changing world.

DePauw students are uncommonly engaged in their education, and DePauw is one of those rare places that attracts and trains students who have multiple talents. The classic DePauw student is not just an exemplary scholar, but also a team captain, the student body president, and a community service leader. DePauw students are social, and they are welcoming. They are open to each other and to the world. DePauw students have a sense of joy in life, and a curiosity about themselves, about each other, and about the world. Our talented faculty offer our students personal attention in small classes, helping them hone their thinking, skills, and abilities in order to build a sound foundation for future success. DePauw’s School of Music offer talented musicians the opportunity to develop their skills while receiving all the benefits of a strong liberal arts education.

DePauw University is located in Greencastle, Indiana, about 45 miles west of Indianapolis and 180 miles south of Chicago. Our campus boasts state of the art buildings, from laboratories to performing arts spaces to athletic facilities, and our investment in instructional technologies and digital resources has led to our recognition as one of the nation’s most wired campuses. The 695-acre campus includes a 520-acre nature park that offers nearly 9 miles of trails for education, research, reflection, and recreation.

We invite you to visit DePauw, and to get more information about the programs and activities available to you here, and about DePauw’s long history as a community of learners and leaders. Welcome.
