Founded in 1837 by the Methodist Church, DePauw University is a private, selective, coeducational, residential, undergraduate College of Liberal Arts and School of Music. The School of Music, which recently moved to the stunning new Judson and Joyce Green Center for the Performing Arts, provides well-balanced opportunities to polish students' musical skills while developing their abilities to think, reason, and live. Extraordinary faculty, who are accomplished performers and teachers, are dedicated student advocates and mentors. Around 150 performances are offered each year. Non-music majors are welcome to participate in ensembles and enroll in music classes.

Our wireless coverage and learning resources complement the DePauw laptop program. Started three years ago, the laptop program requires each enrolling student to purchase a significantly discounted, University-configured laptop for his/her use in courses. There are five honors programs that offer internships, research opportunities and/or independent study for exceptional students.
The Honor Scholar program is designed for the individual who realizes that wisdom begins with wonder. Honor Scholars epitomize the ideals of a liberal arts education, striving to push themselves intellectually, as well as personally. The program offers the opportunity for interdisciplinary research and creative learning.
The Information Technology Associates Program (ITAP) provides DePauw students with an unparalleled opportunity to link a liberal arts education with technology know-how through four years of on-campus internships with a wide range of information technologies. IT Associates are closely mentored by faculty members, IT staff and experienced students, and they are paid an hourly wage as they master new skills.
The Management Fellows program is a four-year learning experience integrating the study of management and entrepreneurship with a liberal arts education, a top-notch lecture series and a full-time, semester-long paid internship.
Students have interned all over the world in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. Past internship sites include: Goldman, Sachs & Co., Chicago; Partners in Housing Development Corp., Indianapolis; Ernst & Young Global, New York; Brunswick Group, New York; BrandEra, Fort Worth,Texas; Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless, Inc., Washington, D.C.; and Independent Purchasing Cooperative, Miami, Florida.
The Media Fellows program combines classroom theory with hands-on media experience within The Eugene S. Pulliam Center for Contemporary Media. Semester-long, off-campus internships and a speaker series highlight an exploration into the theory and practice of media and give students insight into the world of radio, television, print journalism, advertising, public relations, film and the Internet.
The Science Research Fellows program includes an inquiry-based introductory course, a summer-long collaborative scientific investigation with a faculty member, and a semester-long, off-campus internship. Recent internship sites include: Harvard University Medical Research Laboratories, Fermilab, Dartmouth University, St. Louis Zoo, AgDia Corporation, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and the Mayo Clinic.
DePauw’s four libraries include Roy O. West Library (main library), the Prevo Science Library located in the Julian Science and Mathematics Center, the Visual Resource Center in the Peeler Art Center, and the Music Library located in the Green Center for the Performing Arts. Library holdings include 318,627 book volumes; 15,659 audiovisual titles; 1,581 print periodical titles; over 475 electronic titles; and 451,000 government documents. Students also have 24/7 access to digital library collections from on or off campus.
