Leaves:
Leaves are long and thin, up to 2 inches long.
Flowers:
Flowers are 1 inch in diameter with five flat petals fused together at their base. Base of flower is tube-shaped. Petals are bluish-violet, lavender, pinkish, or white. Flowers are produced in showy clusters at the tip of a stem. Blooms in spring, in April and May.
Roots:
Plants spread asexually through underground roots.
