Flowers:
Flowers are whitish green or pale yellowish-green, tube-shaped. Flowers hang from stem, underneath leaves.
Fruit:
Fruit is a small berry, initially green, ripens to dark blue.
Roots:
Plant spreads by underground rhizomes, forms colonies.
More Information:
Polygonatum is from the Greek for "many knees," refers to knee-like shape of underground rhizomes. The species name biflorum is from the Latin for "two-flowered." Scars on rhizomes resemble ancient Hebrew seal of King Solomon.
