Introduction to Digital Signage is focused on understanding and analyzing digital displays as well as their applications and use cases. The course will utilize a near 50/50 blend where half of the time will be spent on theory with students first learning through a flipped classroom model and then engaging in class discussions, activities and presentations. The other half will be hands-on with students leveraging modern no-code software to create static and interactive content for digital displays. Presentations and projects will have technical requirements, but students will have many opportunities to apply their own creativity to projects that matter to them. Only basic computer skills are assumed; no knowledge of computer programming is required; no formal course prerequisites; students from all majors and all class levels are encouraged to consider enrolling. As part of this course, students will be required to pass an online certification exam that will provide a real-world credential in the field of digital signage, which could open exciting opportunities. Mandatory course fee: TBD.
