To prepare for your arrival at DePauw, please refer to this checklist for some key steps that you’ll need to take to arrive.

Pay SEVIS I-901 Fee
Your SEVIS ID (Nxxxxxxxxxx) can be found on the top left of your Form I-20 or top right of your Form DS-2019. Reminder: You need to get your I-20 from DePauw's Office of International Admission. -
Apply for either an F-1 or J-1 Exchange Visitor (student degree) visa at a U.S. Embassy/ Consulate in your home country. (Details on Obtaining a Visa)

*NOTE: Canadian citizens and citizens of Bermuda do not need to apply for an entry visa at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate before traveling to the U.S. However, they still have to follow the rest of the procedures and enter the U.S. with a valid Form I-20 or DS-2019. -
Schedule your trip to the U.S.
For Fall 2024 Arrival, plan to arrive at DePauw on or before the program start date on your Form I-20 or DS-2019. Your arrival date in the U.S. can be no earlier than 30 days prior to the program start date printed on your Form I-20 or DS-2019. Students who arrive later than the program start date must receive approval from the department for late arrival.
