Apply for F/J Reentry Visa
If you intend to depart the United States while you are a DePauw student and your F-1 or J-1 entry stamp is expired (or will expire while you are outside of the U.S.), you will need to apply for a new one before you can return to the United States.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to apply for a new visa or renew your visa within the United States. You must apply for it at an embassy or consulate outside of the United States.
The Visa Renewal Process

The process is typically the same one that you went through when you first applied for your F-1 or J-1 entry visa.

You will have to complete the DS-160 form again; then make an appointment at the U.S. consulate or embassy where you’re applying.

SEVIS Fee: F-1 students will need to pay the SEVIS fee again if their SEVIS number has changed; J-1 students will need to pay the SEVIS fee again.
Some students may choose to apply for a new reentry visa in their home country. Others may prefer to apply for their visa in a new country. You should refer to your preferred consulate or embassy’s website to see if this is possible; you must also abide by all immigration rules of that country in terms of permission to be there.
