Jobs & Resources
Founder's Fund
Hi, CS Majors,
We want to talk with you about student funding for the year. We have $6000 in our 24-25 budget for student travel. We will allocate the money in FCFS mode (you know, a queue!) The criteria we will use:
Max $500 per student.
-
Priority to students who can use their conference/hackathon/etc participation to benefit other students on campus.
-
Priority to students who have already served the department and its students through leadership in active/event-driven student organizations (most important), tutoring/TAing, and research.
-
Priority to students attending prestigious/well-respected events such as the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing or the Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing. Other events will also be considered within the bounds of these priorities and the overall goal of the fund.
-
Little preference for students attending an event solely to obtain a job (like an event with a job fair.)
Please fill out a row in the Founders Fund application HERE.
If you want to “make your case” regarding the four criteria above, send an additional email to the Chair of the Department of Computer Science.
