Traffic Flow Simulator for City Streets

Travis Clark

I have frequently given interested thought to traffic systems as I have traveled, and I have made rather acute observations of the patterns of traffic flow and related interactions. Out of this interest, my senior project is aimed at developing a simulator for vehicular traffic flow on a section of city streets. The simulation will attempt to model traffic flow of individual cars and relationships between cars as they navigate complex intersections and groups of intersections. This project also encompasses extracting data on the flow of traffic through intersections. There is no planned graphical component of this project: the scope is to develop the engine of this simulator.
