XII Scripta: A Computer Simulated Roman Board Game
Peter Schamber
The game, XII Scripta, is an ancient Roman board game, similar to modern-day Backgammon. There exist several sources detailing some, but not all, of this game's rules. This project recreates this game as an iPhone application. The application contains three primary features: player versus computer play with three degrees of difficulty, player versus player play by means of a shared device, and a rule editor for the creation of custom rules. By granting the user the option of creating custom rules, the user can play this game with the different rule sets proposed by contemporary scholars.
