Movie Knight
Matthew Cornejo
Almost everyone loves to wind down and watch a good movie. However, finding the right movie can be time-consuming and daunting, because of the number of choices. Movie Knight aims to solve this problem. Movie Knight is a web application designed for movie fans struggling to choose a new movie to watch.
Because Movie Knight is structured for movie lovers, the website will allow users to create an account to provide feedback on movies they have watched. To create an account, users must provide an email address and a password. The user’s password will be encrypted. Movie Knight will also have an admin account that can delete users. Movie Knight is unique in that unlike most film review websites, users can only provide written feedback on movies. Film reviews are subjective. A rating of 8 out of 10 for one person will be different from an 8 out of 10 for another. By only providing written reviews, Movie Knight users can elaborate on aspects of the movie they enjoyed or perhaps did not enjoy. Most film review sites have stars (IMDb) or percentages (Rotten Tomatoes). Within the Movie Knight web application, will be a table listing various critically acclaimed movies. The movies will be listed, not ranked, on the Movie Knight website. The movies featured on Movie Knight will include the highest-rated films on IMDb. The table will include the name of the movie, an image of the movie poster, the year it was released, the country of origin, and the director. I also plan on having links to the movie’s page on Rotten Tomatoes and/or IMDb. Additionally, Movie Knight will have a search bar, which can be used to search for a movie or director.
