ANNA BAIG AND YOUSAF KHAN WIN SECOND PLACE IN "PITCH COMPETITION." (SPRING 2022)
Congratulations to the runners-up of the Spring 2022 DePauw University campus-wide pitch competition held at the Tenzer Hub For Entrepreneurship in downtown Greencastle, Indiana. SECOND PLACE: Anna Baig (Computer Science & Economics) and Yousaf Khan (Computer Science & Actuarial Science) for their gig-economy idea KaamKaaj.
Anna: "It was a great experience for me especially as someone in Computer Science because it gave me the chance to use my skills from my major to help people in the developing world. Our pitch was for a startup called KaamKaaj (Urdu for livelihood) that helps find short-term employment for blue-collar workers in developing countries, and we made a prototype app with Android Studio using what we learned in CSC396: Mobile Development!"
Yousaf: "To me, this experience was a testament to the usefulness of computer science to businesses today. A major competitive edge of our pitch was the ability to bring our business ideas to life by building a prototype for our application on Android Studio. Best of all, being able to develop an application allows us to focus our efforts to help people all over the world from our computers."
