Future opportunities in computing are without boundaries.
According to the Association of Computing Machinery:
"Computing is one of those fields where it is almost impossible to predict what will happen next. This is why we cannot even begin to imagine all the ways that you can make a contribution to it and it can make your life's work exciting and real."
At DePauw:
One of our professors frequently reminds students that technologists have often underestimated the importance of computing to our future. For example, in 1943 the president of IBM stated: "I think there is a world market for maybe five computers." Decades later, in 1977, the founder of Digital Equipment Corporation said "There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home." As exciting as the world is today, the future of computing (your future with computing!) is beyond what you can imagine. Dream big - and there truly will be no boundaries for you.
