Christy Holmes
Meet Christy Holmes, the first DePauw faculty member with an appointment fully in Women's Studies.
Christy Holmes received her Ph.D. from the Department of Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies at the Ohio State University and is an Associate Professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at DePauw University. Her book, "Ecological Borderlands: Body, Nature, and Spirit in Chicana Feminism" investigates environmental practices and ecological consciousness as they emerge in the activism, art, film, and literary production of Chicana feminists and Mexican American women. Her teaching and research interests include transnational and Chicana/Latina feminisms; ecofeminism, ecowomanism, and environmental justice; gender and development; feminist methodology and qualitative research methods; and women's/gender/feminist studies field formation.
