Simone de Beauvoir Society
Call for papers -- MLA 2019
The topic of the Society's session at next year's Modern Language Association conference, which will be held January 3-6 2019 in Chicago, will be "Simone de Beauvoir's Fiction: Questions of Privilege." We're looking for papers discussing how Beauvoir's novels address intersectionalities of identity and oppression, social class and social justice, consumer culture, situated histories, and/or how she speaks to us today. Please send a 300-word abstract and your cv to Meryl Altman, maltman@depauw.edu, by March 10. Decisions about the panel will be made by early April.
Please share this call with anyone you think might be interested. Presenters must be members of the Society, but it is easy to join (or renew) by going to

and clicking "membership."
