The Community Music School at DePauw fosters broad access to high quality and affordable music training and education for learners of all ages.
Communiversity and Continued Learning courses offer adult learners the opportunity to engage in music in a variety of ways. Past classes have included topics such as “Opera and Wine,” “Spanish Music from Gran Canaria,” and “The Raga Road to Bollywood” by the renowned tabla player Sandeep Das, including Indian desserts and teas.
These events are designed to give insight into musical skills as well as other culturally related fields.

Open to learners of all ages, DePauw University musicians provide one-on-one lessons in strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano, and voice. Community students will be assigned an instructor and receive approximately ten lessons each semester.

The DePauw Institute of Music and Greencastle Middle School provide 6-8 graders with the opportunity to explore their own creativity by learning to improvise and perform in a jazz band.
