Resource Guide
The following list of materials can help you navigate issues surrounding racism, homophobia, xenophobia, classism, and other systems of oppression. To work yourself through this list will take about one hour of your time. This list is not complete and we encourage people to do their own work and self-educate.
First, start with Kimberlé Crenshaw, a scholar on racial justice and founder of intersectionality theory gives a Ted Talk on intersectionality here.
Next, watch Bryan Stevenson who has worked relentlessly on racial justice in the criminal justice system discuss the topic of slavery to the prison systems here.
Afterwards read the following articles:
White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard to Talk to White People About Racism
True Solidarity: Moving Past Privilege Guilt
11 Things White People Can Do to Be Real Anti-Racist Allies
Making Our Movements Stronger by Resisting Antisemitism
Transgender FAQ and how to be a Trans Ally
Finally, this list is not complete. It is not complete because you are ultimately responsible for your own bias, education, awareness, and learning as you continue to get older and learn more. We will continue to add to this list in the coming weeks.
