Emergency and Crisis Services
Counseling Services strives to support the mental health and wellness of all DePauw students, especially in the event of a mental health emergency or crisis. A mental health emergency/crisis includes:
- Thoughts of suicide/self-harm
- Thoughts of harming others
- Recent trauma
- Sexual harassment/assault/violence
- Bias/discrimination incident
- Perceptual Disturbance (i.e. hallucination)
- Concern for personal safety
- Concern for the safety of others
Emergency walk-in hours (M-F, 8AM-5PM):
Counseling Services holds emergency walk-in hours from 11AM-12PM and 3PM-4PM during regular business hours. If an emergency takes place outside of walk-in hours, students may still visit our office between the hours of 8AM-5PM, Monday-Friday and should inform our front office manager he/she/they are experiencing a mental health emergency. Students will be able to meet with our next available clinician.
24/7 mental health crisis line:
Through our work and partnership with MINDful College Connections, our regional consortium project, students have 24/7 access to mental health crisis line support. This service is provided by Mantra Health and is accessible by contacting our main office phone number (765-658-4268).
