Statement on Scholarly or Artistic Work

Deepa Prakash's research and teaching interests lie in International Relations. She has recently published work on the role of emotional politics in International Relations, centering on the use of shaming and criticism. She is interested in non-state actors in world politics, how emotions impact outcomes in International Relations and the intersection of pop culture and politics. Her methodological interests lie in qualitative methods. She also has expertise in Political Violence and Comparative Counter-Terrorism.

Teaching Interests

Deepa Prakash specializes in International Relations. She teaches courses on International Security, non-state actors in world politics, gender and politics, terrorism, pop-culture and politics. She also regularly teaches introduction to international politics and senior seminar in Political Science.
