Acquisition Puts DePauw Trustee Nicholas D. Chabraja in Headlines

August 8, 2001, Greencastle, Ind. - The announcement by General Dynamics Corp. that its agreed to acquire Motorola's Integrated Information Systems Group has made Nicholas D. Chabraja, General Dynamics' chairman and chief executive and a Trustee of DePauw University, one of the most quotable people in financial columns this week. The $825 million dollar deal is seen by analysts as one that will increase the array of products General Dynamics can offer.
"This acquisition strengthens our position in communications and information technology for military and government customers," Chabraja said in a statement issued by his company. "In addition, there is real synergy with other elements within our information systems and technology group. This is a business we know, and we believe it will achieve its full potential as part of General Dynamics."
