Examine Career Options at 'Exploration Day' Thursday
October 23, 2001
October 23, 2001, Greencastle, Ind. - Whether you're looking to talk with professionals in your chosen field or are still examining career options, you should mark Thursday afternoon, October 25, on your calendar. All students are welcome to attend Career Exploration Day, which has three components.
THE CAREER FAIR: In the Ballroom of the Union Building from noon - 4 p.m. a variety of occupations and graduate schools will be represented by alumni and friends of the University. These individuals will answer questions about the field, discuss career paths, suggest ways to prepare for a career in the field and discuss potential opportunities in their organization or field.
"LIBERAL ARTS AT WORK" LUNCHEON: To allow students an opportunity to speak with participants at length, we offer occupationally focused luncheons where students may talk with representatives over lunch from noon - 1 p.m. The current occupations being represented during the luncheon are non-profit, sports management, small business and human resources. Students can sign up in advance in the Career Services office.
ALUMNI PRESENTATIONS: Three presentations have been scheduled during which students can receive advice from and interact with DePauw Alumni. Advance sign up in Career Services is required for these three activities:
- "NETWORKING YOUR WAY TO A JOB" workshop/discussion: 1-2 p.m., 106 East College
- "INTERVIEW SKILLS" workshop: 4-5 p.m., 106 East College
- "MOCKTAILS" AND ETIQUETTE: 5:00-7:30 p.m., The Walden Inn (minimal cost)
