Heartbreaker as DePauw Loses Bell at Buzzer, 27-21

November 10, 2001, Greencastle, Ind. - [DOWNLOAD VIDEO: "Game Winning TD" 1086KB] [DOWNLOAD VIDEO: "Another Angle" 689KB] Tiger fans left Blackstock Stadium heartbroken this afternoon after a frantic play with no time remaining on the clock resulted in a 27-21 Wabash College victory. Taking a snap wiith just 2.7 seconds remaining in regulation, Little Giants quarterback Jake Knott scrambled right and heaved a pass from his own 48 that reached the DePauw 5-yard line, bounced off of receiver Ryan Short and into the hands of Kurt Casper in the end zone for the victory.
The Tigers had tied the contest with only 13.9 seconds remaining in the game on a 1-yard touchdown run.
The loss ends DePauw's five-game win streak in the Monon Bell series.
