Jen Schmaltz '98 Takes a Spin on TV's Wheel of Fortune

May 22, 2002, Greencastle, Ind. - Viewers of Wheel of Fortune this week caught more than a glimpse of a familiar DePauw face taking a spin, and doing quite well for herself. Jennifer R. Schmaltz, a 1998 graduate of the University, emerged from Monday's episode of the popular television game show as the winner, with a prize of $20,400 ( [DOWNLOAD VIDEO: "Jen Schmaltz '98" 466KB]).

This week's programs, which feature a sports theme, were taped in Chicago, where Jen Schmaltz works as a physician's assistant (in that role, she accompanied students to the Dominican Republic this past Winter Term).

In a quick question and answer session, Schmaltz, who majored in biological science at DePauw, told host Pat Sajak, [DOWNLOAD VIDEO: "Q & A" 617KB] "I love all sports," adding, "I play the violin, I've been playing for about 15 years."
