Moore Theatre is a Cabaret; See Musical This Weekend
November 8, 2002
November 8, 2002, Greencastle, Ind. - The renowned Tony Award-winning musical, Cabaret opens in Moore Theatre of DePauw University's Performing Arts Center tonight, with performances Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, November 9 & 10 and next Friday and Saturday, November 15 & 16. The musical is presented as part of DePauw's first ArtsFest, which concludes Sunday.
Featuring some very well-known musical selections, including "Sitting Pretty," "Willkommen," and the title song, this is a wildly entertaining and provocative production of John Kander, Fred Ebb and Joe Masteroff's darkly comic masterpiece. Set in Germany, just before the rise of Hitler and the Nazi Party, a young American writer finds himself distracted and tempted by life at the decadent Kit Kat Klub.
Directed by Assistant Professor of Communication Arts and Sciences Tim Good and featuring performances by DePauw students Dave Nerychel, Shelonda Moreland and Emmy Hakes, Cabaret can be seen at 8 p.m. on November 8, 9, 15 and 1 p.m. November 10. Due to strong language and adult situations, Cabaret is recommended for mature audiences.
Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for students. Audience members can also choose to sit on-stage in "interactive" seating within the Kit Kat Klub on a first-come, first-served basis.
