Peeler Center Architect's Newest Building to be Dedicated; DePauw Mentioned

May 30, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - Irwin Mortgage Corporation's new corporate headquarters in Fishers, Indiana, to be dedicated at a ribbon-cutting ceremony this evening, "was designed by internationally recognized architect, Carlos Jiménez, whose work has been linked to the new wave of Spanish and Latin American architects. Jiménez's buildings are known for their purity of form, use of bold color and sophisticated ordering of spaces. The Irwin Mortgage building is the fourth project in Indiana for his Houston-based Carlos Jiménez Studio. At the dedication of DePauw's Peeler Art Center (seen below) on October 11, 2002, Jiménez, professor at Rice University's School of Architecture, noted, [DOWNLOAD VIDEO: "The Architect" 524KB] "This is probably one of the great moments in anyone's career when suddenly a certain degree of responsibility is taken away. And yet, [there's] the enormous responsibility of knowing that the building begins its true architecture, which is it's life to come."
