Class of 2003 Sets Senior Gift Drive Record
June 2, 2003
June 2, 2003, Greencastle, Ind. - For the third consecutive year, a record number of graduating seniors took part in the Senior Gift Drive, and this year's increase in participation is the largest jump to date. Eighty-five percent of the Class of 2003 (407 out of a total of 473 seniors) participated in the drive, compared to 75% of last year's class and 71.3% in 2001.
The Senior Gift committee, composed of more than 55 student volunteers, worked hard to ensure success in educating seniors about the Senior Gift Drive. The drive is designed to teach the senior class the purpose of DePauw's Annual Fund and encourages classmates to make a gift for one to three years. This year, 16 of 23 living units contributed to the drive at the 100% participation level. DePauw Trustee Nancy Shelly Schaenen ‘51 generously matched the Senior Gift total.
This year's Senior Gift Drive was chaired by John T. Benton, Natalie M. Deer, Kyana J. Hardy, Katherine I. Hundley, Lauri B. Kinkel, Edmond Krasniqi, Shelonda K. Moreland, Elizabeth J. Morgan, Sarah J. Murray, Natalie N. Seibert and David J. Ziemba.
The DePauw Annual Fund's goal for 2002-03 is $4.16 million. Alumni can make a gift or pledge to the Annual Fund by clicking here or by calling (800) 446-5298. Contributions made to DePauw University will be matched dollar-for-dollar by Lilly Endowment. You can learn more by clicking here.
