Alumni: Experience Oxford This Summer

February 8, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw University is working with England's Oxford University to offer alumni a week-long "Oxford Experience," July 11-17, 2004. Alumni are invited to spend a week living at Oxford's historic Christ Church and to participate in one of the 10 seminars offered that week by the distinguished university's lecturers.
Seminar topics from which alumni may choose include:
- English Medieval Monasteries
- Twentieth Century British Music
- William the Conqueror
- The Fall of the British Empire
- Oxford Murder
- The Operas of Mozart
- Enjoying the Cotswolds
- Drawing at Christ Church
- Oxford in the Age of Victoria
- Jewish Life in Medieval England
The seminars meet during the mornings, allowing for course-related field trips or free time during the afternoons. DePauw staff members will host a welcoming reception and a farewell dinner for alumni who attend.
Christ Church offers a variety of residential accommodations in its handsome buildings. The comprehensive fee for the seminar, meals and accommodations is 855 pounds sterling (approximately $1,550).
