April 1, 2004, Greencastle, Ind. - The "This Week in Cambridge History" column in today's edition of Massachusetts' Cambridge Chronicle notes, "April 7, 1961: British Prime Minister Harold Macmillan interrupted his visit to the nation's capital to travel to Cambridge to address an audience at MIT. Referring to his 1958 speech at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, in which he called for interdependence, Macmillan said, 'Today I can say interdependence is not enough. We need unity, a wider unity, transcending traditional barriers. A unity of purpose, of method of organization.'"
